We stayed at Twiga Lodge and did a self drive 3 day safari and we had the most incredible time. The vehicle we hired had everything we needed right down to a glasses repair kit! (Which we did actually use!) and we were provided with all the information we needed to enjoy our safari. Great hospitality from Erika and Paul, great food and drink and a very comfortable nights sleep. I would definitely recommend Shaw Safaris.
Warm hospitality and wonderful food at Twiga Lodge. The landrover was well equipped for us visiting several National Parks. The itinerary arranged for us by Erika was excellent. The safari itself was magical. There is something extra special when you are on your own without a guide and can quietly watch a cheetah watching for his supper.Paul and Erika ensured that we had an exceptionally special holiday.
Paul and Erika were easy to work with and quick to respond to any issues. The Land Rovers are well-maintained by Paul and his mechanic, Peter. Erika made all our camping arrangements and bookings in advance. She and Paul know the parks well so they were able to choose camping locations and lodges that fit our tastes. The briefing on the self-drive was very comprehensive so that we felt well-prepared for the adventure ahead. Driving conditions are very rugged but we were reassured to know that we could rely on Paul and Erika in Arusha should anything go wrong. But, everything worked out exactly as planned.
We have Paul and Erika to thank for a terrific adventure and vacation. We rented one of their well kitted Land Rover Defenders which was in perfect shape and proved to be a very trusthworthy companion during our trip. Erika was very helpful during the planning phase of our trip and provided us with very useful information, helped us to create a tailormade itinerary and booked all our special campsites. Upon arrival she gave us a very thorough briefing on our itinerary, the car and all the equipment. Everything was very well prepared which made us feel very comfortable to explore the beauty of Tanzania on our own.
